Cootehill Waits For Irish Lotto Winner To Come Forward
Speculation is already starting to spread about who won Wednesday night’s Irish Lotto jackpot as the town of Cootehill waits for the lucky player to come forward. A top prize of €6.4 million was on offer after nine consecutive rollovers, and a single ticket bought at Argue’s Londis Service Station in Cootehill, Co Cavan, matched the winning line.

The numbers drawn on Wednesday were 7, 16, 18, 20, 24 and 37, with Bonus Ball 13. Visit the Irish Lotto Results page to find a full prize breakdown, including details of the Irish Lotto Plus 1, Irish Lotto Plus 2 and Irish Lotto Raffle draws.
The owner of the store which sold the jackpot-winning ticket, Jim Argue, heard the news when he received a call from a local lottery representative at 11.30pm on the night of the draw. He is thrilled for the winner and says everyone is now excited to learn more.
Jim said: “We’re on the outskirts of the town and we get a lot of passing trade so I suppose it could be anyone.” The rumour mill has already gone into overdrive but nobody really knows, apart from the person themselves, who has won it. I would like it to be someone local and hopefully someone who needs the cash. We’re all delighted for whoever it is.”
The lucky winner has 90 days from the date of the draw to come forward and claim their prize, and can decide whether to go public with their story or remain anonymous. If you feel inspired to become the next big winner, there will be an Irish Lotto jackpot of €2 million to aim for this Saturday. Tickets can be bought from authorised retailers across Ireland, or you can select your numbers online. Best of luck!
