Irish Lotto Results for Saturday 9th May 2015
After a month of rollovers, a single player from the Midlands finally nabbed the Irish Lotto jackpot on Saturday 9th May. Their €5.9 million payout makes them the fourth jackpot winner of 2015 after an online ticket holder, part of a syndicate from Dublin, snapped up €2 million on Wednesday 8th April. In addition to this weekend’s big winner, over 40,000 participants grabbed some serious cash prizes.

The rumour mill about the identity of the winner has been going into overdrive all weekend after news broke that the winning ticket was purchased at a Tesco in Mullingar where Bobby Horan, father of One Direction star Niall Horan, works as a butcher. It seems to be a fantastically lucky shop as a couple picked up €10 million from a €4 Quick Pick ticket purchased there in 2013. Many residents and Tesco employees think it may have been purchased on behalf of a syndicate.
Saturday’s winning line was 2, 5, 13, 17, 32 and 34 with Bonus Ball 45. One player matched five main numbers and the Bonus Ball to pick up €25,000, while 55 ticket holders won €1,266 each for matching five main numbers. The remaining prizes distributed to winners on the night were worth between €5 for matching three main numbers and €198 for matching four main numbers and the Bonus Ball. Have a look at the Irish Lotto Results page to learn more about Saturday’s draw as well as the supplementary Lotto Plus 1 and Lotto Plus 2 games.
The jackpot win came a day after an anonymous Dublin syndicate came forward to claim their life-changing prize. While they won in April, they had to wait a month to collect their winnings as the member who purchased the ticket was on holiday. With €500,000 safely tucked away in each of their bank accounts, the group of four can now look forward to the future with a smile.
If you’d like to repeat their performance, as well as that of this weekend’s Irish Lotto winner, be sure to buy tickets online or from authorised retailers for the draw on Wednesday 13th May. The jackpot has reset to the minimum value of €2 million - still a pretty nice amount of cash! Good luck, have fun and make sure to check out IrishLottery.com after the draw for the latest results.
