Loughrea Player Wins Big

The winning ticket was bought at the Corrib Oil service station in Loughrea, Co Galway, and it matched the numbers 5, 6, 14, 19, 22 and 30 in the Lotto draw on Saturday 12th May to land the biggest prize of the year so far. A spokesperson from the National Lottery said: “It was fantastic that the ticket holder has got in touch so quickly. We are now making arrangements for the winner or winners to collect their prize over the coming weeks.”

After the win, the jackpot reset to €2 million for Wednesday’s draw, but it was not won on the night, so has rolled over to €2.5 million for the next draw on Saturday 19th May. The lottery spokesperson said: “"We are on a great roll already with four Lotto Jackpots wins so far this year totalling an incredible €25 million. And there is the added incentive this month of winning a luxury holiday voucher worth €20,000 if you Match 5 Numbers + the Bonus."

Win a Luxury €20,000 Holiday

The Irish Lotto’s May Getaway promotion awards players who match five numbers plus the Bonus a €20,000 luxury holiday voucher, in addition to the usual cash prize. Several people have already won holidays through the promotion, including three players from the draw on Saturday.

One of the winners didn’t know about May Getaway until she noticed a message on her ticket mentioning it. “I got straight on the phone to the sister and got her to check again online if this was this true. We both started screaming when she said it was. I refused to believe this until I called the National Lottery yesterday when they confirmed."

€20,000 would be enough to secure you a week in a luxury suite at the 7-star Burj Al Arab hotel in Dubai, or a spell in the Taj Falaknuma Palace in India, which was once owned by the ruler of Hyperabad. If your tastes are more modest, and you want to see the world, you could use €20,000 to fund a year-long backpacking trip around the world.

The Irish Lotto’s May Getaway promotion runs until the 30th May. It costs no additional fee, and all players who buy a ticket for the main Lotto draw will automatically be entered into the competition. Winners must present their tickets at the Irish National Lottery headquarters at the following address within the 90-day claim period: National Lottery, Abbey Street Lower, Dublin 1.
